Sheikh Ahmad-e Jām Khaneghah and Mausoleum Complex
Sheikh Ahmad-e Jām Khaneghah and Mausoleum Complex (Mazar-e Jām) is part of the Tentative list of Iran in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The tomb complex of Sufi saint Sheikh Ahmad Jām is a product of various historical periods. Sheikh Ahmad Jām died in 1141, his shrine secured patronage from Mongols, Kartids, Tamerlane, and Timurids. Of special note within the collection of religious buildings, mosques, houses, and tombstones is the Khaneghah, a seminary that attracted students and pilgrims from afar.
